Sprouts

1.5 – 2.5 Years Old*

Our tamariki in Sprouts have now had their first room transition. Here, we celebrate and explore our Sprouts’ new found confidence and ability to adapt and learn with their new kaiako. Encouraging exploration with adventure and freedom ensuring  open arms are ready for our tamariki when needed.

How do our tamariki learn?

provides opportunity...

“Let the child be the scriptwriter, the director and the actor in his own play”

– Magda Gerber

Freedom to move, freedom to explore, freedom to have adventures. This is what we practise here in sprouts. We begin to step-back a little further and let our tamariki explore their interests and ideas more independently. We observe them pushing themselves outside of their comfort zones to learn and investigate new things.

Tamariki this age are known very well for their pottering and tinkering. This we encourage and celebrate! It is a way of expressing themselves when they feel loved and safe with their carers.

Hannah H

Kia Ora, I’m Hannah.

I am originally from Wellington, living there for most of my life apart from a two year stint in sunny Blenheim. Six years ago I moved to Tuakau and gained a husband and two children.

Since then we built a house in Pukekawa and added two more kiddies to our tribe – Baxter and Phoebe. We also have a couple of cows, some sheep and some chooks. We love to spend time together exploring and playing games and making lots of memories.

I’ve been a qualified early childhood teacher for 15 years, working across a range of age groups, predominantly with two year olds. I’m passionate about young tamariki’s development in the early years and supporting them to have their best start in life.

On returning from Maternity leave after having my daughter Phoebe, I wanted to find a village that could be a second home to us all so I’m happy to have found that here at Wild + Love. I can’t wait to get to know you all as we settle in and begin this new chapter.

Joeline

Kia ora I am Joeline.

With 12 wonderful years of early learning experience, I know that my passion is in early learning education. I came to Wild + Love looking for a place where I could provide meaningful contribution to both tamariki and their whaanau, wanting a village with a key focus on high quality care and nature education as my beliefs are that the outside world is a fantastic place for our youngest members of the community to learn. Since being at Wild + Love I have formed lovely bonds with our tamariki and I enjoy giving great cuddles and piggy-back rides to our children!

Megan

Kia Ora. I’m Megan.

I started my journey at wild in July 2023. I have been working in Early Childhood for 4 years. I graduated with a graduate diploma in Early Childhood teaching in May 2023 on the back of a bachelors degree in nursing in 2015. My personal teaching philosophy centres around the importance of building and sustaining authentic, genuine, and loving relationships with whanau and tamariki to allow empowerment, curiosity and exploration at its fullest. I feel privileged to be apart of you and your child’s journey through these early years.
